The story
The dark one. Fourteen wells cut into black walnut, with a wave of hard maple set through the middle and a thin red line beside it. The handle carries a stripe of the same maple.
Walnut is the wood most people picture when they picture a good board: chocolate brown, quiet grain, heavy in the hand. Against it the eggs look like they were meant to be there.
Wash by hand, dry standing up, oil it when it looks dull.
