The story
Fourteen wells for fourteen half eggs, cut into a board of hard maple with one wave of black walnut set through it from the handle to the far end. A thin red line follows the walnut on one side.
Maple is the pale, even wood of the classic cutting board. It shows the walnut off and it shows paprika off too, so wipe it down after the gathering rather than the next morning.
Wash by hand, dry standing up, oil it when it looks pale.
