Machine wash cold, dry low or flat, and keep it off an open flame.
Our hotpads and towels are cotton, quilted over insulated batting, and made to be used every day and washed often.
Washing
Machine wash cold with like colors. Skip bleach and fabric softener; softener coats the fibers and makes the pad hold heat less well. Tumble dry low or lay it flat. A hot dryer will shrink the cotton a little and set any stains.
Heat
A hotpad is for hot dishes and pan handles, not for holding over a burner. Insulated batting slows heat; it does not stop it. If a pad gets wet, let it dry before you pick up something hot with it, because water carries heat straight through.
Wear
The stitching will outlast the print. When the colors fade and the corners soften, that is a pad that has done its job. Keep it for the everyday and put a fresh one out for company.
